This family is full of faith, love, and so much laughter. It is all felt the moment that you walk through the doors of their home. Actually, it’s felt when you hear this mama talk about her children and describe their world. I send a pre-session questionnaire before working with all of my families. I believe this to be an important step in our process for a couple of reasons. It allows parents to really sit back and think about their family life and children. It pulls out what is important, meaningful, and in need of documentation. It helps me get to know the family and understand what it most important to them. And after reading the responses this mama provided… I couldn’t wait to photograph them.
We chose to begin shooting in their home – where all that love lives. Afterwards, we headed to one of the many parks that they frequent together. The entire session was filled with meaning and it’s why I love what we got. So some rain ended things a little sooner than we would have hoped, but it didn’t take long to capture how much this crew cares for each other.
