A maternity session is really important. A necessity, no. But absolutely important, in my opinion. Put aside the fact that our bodies are freaking amazing. Forget that they are worthy of so much praise and appreciation, for their ability to grow and deliver life, for just a second. I want to focus on another reason maternity photography is so important.
LIFE IS ABOUT TO CHANGE. Chances are, this is the last time that you and your partner are going to jump in front of a camera before your worlds revolve around you child. The same applies if it’s not your first. This will be the last time you’re photographed as a family of 3, 4, 5, etc. Documenting change and love and moments that help tell your family story: Worth it. Always worth it.
Abby and Greg, the soon-to-be mom and dad, are ready for their change ahead. They are so ready to meet their sweet baby girl. They are excited to hold her and spoil her. They can’t wait to call her, Lily and watch her grow. I’m so thrilled for these wonderful people and am so thankful that they chose me to document the months before they met their girl, before it all changed in the most amazing way.
Abby and I have a shared love for PinkBlush on expecting and new mamas. She just gets how to dress the bump. How stunning is she looking BTW?! Let’s all just bow down for a second……………
Their entire session was shot at the gorgeous Simmons Farm. I told them how much I love to bring my own girls there to spend time in the “pick your own flowers” fields. I can predict, a year or two down the road, lots of mama-daddy-Lily dates in the very spot where we shot. Adorable to think about, right?
