Here’s how I threw a cute, cozy, fun and oh-so-delish first birthday party and spent the day celebrating our little Miss Ava Jade:
1. started things off by having a morning dance party with Dziadziu… that’s grandfather in Polish 😉
2. put husband to work in the kitchen making twisty bacon while Dziadziu cooked mini gluten free pancakes
3. invited (as many as our house would allow) family and friends over, making sure that the kids didn’t mistake any adult glasses of OJ as their own … of course mimosas were on the morning menu… it’s a celebration after all!
4. devoured a simple brunch menu and gluten free cupcakes (only a little bit burnt on the bottom)… next year I’m planning a morning stop at Gluuteny rather that attempting to bake on my own…
5. sat back and relaxed while we celebrated and spoiled the little birthday girl
6. cleaned up and napped as a family, once all of the guests left… still in our PJ’s
8. shed a tear, while hugging my husband, as we put our baby to bed… because as happy as we are that she is growing healthy, she is never going to be this little again
10. went to bed with a full heart, feeling thankful for the little blessing that was sound asleep in her crib just one bedroom over
