Her mama and I started this special family session off nearly in tears. (Her little lady is two days older than my youngest and their first birthdays are right around the corner. Que those mama hormones!) We were both a mess as we talked about how incredibly fast the past year flew by. Baby number two is no joke. We blinked and now here we are.
You have your first child and, as time goes by, you can’t possibly imagine loving anything more that that little life your world revolves around. Then you meet your second. It’s a new love – an exhausting love. You have no idea that your heart can hold so much, until it does. But the day-to-day can catch up with you. You’ve got not one, but TWO little lives to care for (and newborns can be pretty needy). So the days literally fly by! Things that you did for baby number one, just don’t happen for baby number two. And then somehow your youngest is about to turn one… because like I said… “you blinked”.
Well the mama at the heart of this amazing family wasn’t about to let this milestone go undocumented. She needed to remember her right now, before she blinked again and she was older, and bigger, and changed. Her perfect and sweet baby girl grew too fast. Remembering what her little family looked like and how they loved each other before her youngest turned one… that called for a family session.
We spent an hour at Mellon Park, in the Shadyside neighborhood of Pittsburgh, where the light is always gorgeous and there is room for a family to just be together. It’s perfect – always. Sort of like this sweet baby girl and the family that loves her so much.
Happy (early) Birthday to this little blue eyed beauty!
